Train management asks court to stop workers' sanctions
The management of Israel Railways on Thursday
requested that the National Labor Court issue an
injunction against train employees whose work
sanctions caused multiple transportation delays
throughout Thursday.
Army Radio reported that the court may hold a
discussion on the issue late Thursday night.
Train crews were threatened, travelers walked on
train tracks and in one instance a woman was injured
when a worker pulled the emergency brake as part of
the sanctions.
Israel Railways management called on the worker's
union to return to the negotiating table in order to
prevent further inconveniencing the public.
Train employees object to plans by management to
transfer maintenance of the cars from Israel
Railways employees to the company that manufactures
the cars.
