Syrian forces used
nail bombs in order to scatter thousands of protesters
Friday in a Damascus suburb, AFP reported according to
activists.
The UK-based Syrian Observatory for
Human Rights said at
least two dozen activists were injured when
security forces in
Douma fired nail bombs on protesters.
The use of nail bombs could not be independently verified
due to the lack of access by foreign press in Syria.
Hundreds of thousands of protesters reportedly took to the
streets in cities across Syria for some of the largest
street demonstrations to have occurred yet in the ten-month
uprising against Syrian President Bashar Assad.
